Although I’m more of a “Star Wars” kind of guy, there’s an episode of “Star Trek: Voyager” that struck a chord with me.
In the episode, called “Scientific Method”, the crew of the Voyager start experiencing strange illnesses.
The Captain has excruciating headaches, another member ages by decades and loses his hair and his sight.
Others have seizures and even start to give off strange odours.
Given the situation, everyone is feeling pretty negative and drained of their energy.
Near the end of the episode, they discover an alien race has cloaked themselves to be invisible and are conducting experiments on the crew to see how they respond.
These invisible aliens are standing right next to the crew, shoving pins in their heads and doing other stuff, and recording the results of their experiments.
While we’re lucky to not have to worry about invisible aliens conducting experiments on us (that I’m aware of), we face our own version of this when we allow negative people into our lives.
Most people are being drained of energy by negative friends, family, and co-workers.
They’re being distracted from their goals and taking on unnecessary stress, and they don’t even realize it.
