A quote from Sun Tzu, the author of “The Art Of War”:
“The worst calamities that befall an army arise from hesitation”
John F. Kennedy learned this the hard way during the failed attempt by the US to overthrow Fidel Castro in the disastrous Bay of Pigs invasion in Cuba in 1961.
The original plan called for 16 planes to strike the Cuban air bases, but Kennedy got cold feet and cut that number in half.
Then he called off a second wave of air strikes that were meant to protect the freedom fighters on the ground, which essentially killed any chance they had of overthrowing Castro.
By not going full force, Kennedy failed and suffered an incredible defeat, diminished political capital, and the loss of reputation with other leaders around the world.
Just as JFK could have succeeded by not holding back, the same goes for online entrepreneurs.
There are a lot of similarities between business and war, and hesitation will kill you on the business battlefield just like the real one.
