TikTok has been a hot topic over the past few weeks …
Meh, I never got into the platform so I don’t care what happens to it.
I downloaded it to check it out, created a few pieces of content, and then left.
My target market isn’t on there, or if they are using it it’s not with the goal of finding help to grow their coaching businesses.
And I wasn’t a fan of handing my complete digital life over to the Chinese Communist government and having them in my pocket 24/7 (yes, I know all social media platforms are bad when it comes to privacy, but TikTok is privacy abuse on steroids)
But the main reason I don’t do TikTok is I don’t want to be a dancing monkey on there, jumping around or lip synching to the latest trend.
A lot of other coaches feel the same way as I do, making us feel like dinosaurs!
(On that note, I saw a meme the other day of a crew member wiping down the robot dinosaur behind the scenes of “Jurassic Park” with the caption: “During the filming of Jurassic Park, T-Rex was known to sweat profusely as it was his first major role in 55 million years”. Ha, ha, ha)
If you’re like me and you don’t want to be a dancing monkey on social media to get coaching clients, there are other ways to do it that doesn’t involve losing any self-respect, singing, or spraining an ankle.
