It’s a common Hollywood trope to have robots rise up and take over the world, like in the “Terminator” movies.
We haven’t gotten to that point in real life, but there’s some freaky stuff going on.
For example, a few years back I read that a Buddhist temple in Japan is using a robot to preach to its people and to help grow the religion (the thing looks very realistic).
And more traditional churches are now using AI to create and preach their Sunday sermons.
Taking it even further, there’s a religion called “The Way Of The Future” that worships technology and a robot deity.
And others like the “Church of AI”, which believes that at some point AI will have God-like powers and we should get on board and start worshipping it now.
Creepy stuff …
While I’m not a fan of worshipping AI, I don’t think the technology is evil.
It can be used to do good in the world, like when coaches put it to use in their businesses.
