As I’m preparing for next week’s live workshop (“The Profitable DM Campaign”) with Miles Stutz, I’ve been devouring his stuff …
He’s got lots of interesting ideas, and one thing he said stood out to me:
=====
“Did you know that your “personal brand” is bleeding you dry?
Yeah, I said it. And I’ll say it again: Your obsession with building a personal brand is costing you cold, hard cash.
Here’s why:
Last month, I watched a “guru” with 100k followers struggle to pay rent. Meanwhile, I pulled in $3k before lunch. Every. Single. Day.
My secret? I don’t give a damn about my “personal brand”.
I care about one thing: Cash in the bank.
Here’s the brutal truth:
- Followers ain’t buyers: Your 10k Instagram followers? They’re not putting food on your table.
- Content creation is a time suck: While you’re crafting the perfect post, I’m closing deals.
- Engagement doesn’t pay bills: Sure, you got 1000 likes. But can you deposit likes at the bank?”
=====
I agree with Miles.
I’m reminded of an Instagram influencer who was launching a clothing line, but she had to sell 36 t-shirts from the initial order for the company to continue to produce them …
And she couldn’t hit that number!
It’s not all about your follower count, so if you have few followers but want to make big sales, register for Mile’s workshop which is happening next Tuesday:
